Ontario iGaming officially launches, with debuts for theScore, High 5 & more
Operator theScore Bet and supplier High 5 Games have made their debut in Ontario.
Functioning as a digital sports media and sports betting company, theScore is headquartered in Toronto.
In 2019, it became the first media company in North America to launch a mobile sportsbook, theScore Bet. And now, theScore Bet Sportsbook and Casino is live and available on both iOS and Android devices.
High 5 Games was founded in 1995 and creates casino content for land-based, mobile online and social markets. It holds a collection of over 500 casino games, a casino platform and licences in many jurisdictions around the world.
Tony Singer, High 5 Games CEO, commented: “We’re so excited to be live in Ontario on day one of licensed and regulated iGaming. Our games have been on the floor of many Canadian land-based casinos for decades, and now players in Ontario can play them online at responsible gaming sites they know and trust.
"The potential for growth in Canada is huge, and we look forward to growing our presence in Ontario and beyond.”
Both companies have registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario; High 5 Games as a content supplier and theScore Bet as an internet gaming operator, operating on behalf of iGaming Ontario. And while theScore Bet app is available to download anywhere in Canada, players must be over 19 years of age and physically located in Ontario to take part.
High 5 Games’ launch in Ontario follows swiftly after achieving a partnership deal with Loto-Quebec to provide its games to Quebec, the second-most populous province in Canada.
Following the highly anticipated birth of the regulated market, iGaming in Ontario is set to welcome many more brands.
