The Tote breaks records at Royal Ascot 2022

UK-based operator The Tote has reported details of its figures on day two of Royal Ascot 2022.

The World Pool share saw an increase of 29% from last year, reaching £33.7m ($41.3m), which had risen from the previous day's total of £31.6M.

The Tote paid out higher than the SP on every race bar one.

Pundit and betting tipster Andrew Mount pipped the top spot on the World Pool leaderboard with his £2,951 Trifecta win.

The top 10 position holders on the leaderboard will qualify for the Champions Tournament held on Champions Day, where a prize of £50,000 will be on offer.

The ‘Beat Benson’ contest, where punters are challenged to win a higher daily profit than pundit Jamie Benson, received a £10,000 addition to the pot from players qualifying for competition prizes.

This free-to-enter challenge paid out a bonus of £361 for all players who made a daily profit of £150 or more.

In addition, the player with the highest total profit over the course of the five-day racing event will win a trip for two to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomph, courtesy of Racing Breaks.

This year sees the event return to full-crowd capacity for the first time since 2019, expected to result in a busy five days for the bookies.
